You're on the waitlist — what happens next
When a spot is full, the sheet shows Join the waitlist instead of a dead end. Here's what joining means and what to expect in your inbox.
How it works
Join the list.
On the full spot, press Join the waitlist, enter your name and email (and how many spots you need), and you're in line. An email confirms it and tells you your place.
Wait — no checking required.
If someone cancels, the church removes someone, or the church adds places, a spot opens. The person at the front of the line is emailed: “A spot opened up — it's your turn.”
Claim it.
Click the button in that email. You're signed up like anyone else, with a confirmation email and calendar buttons. The offer is yours for 24 hours; after that, the next person is offered it and your turn comes back around if it's still open.
Common questions
- How do I know where I am in line?
- Your “You're on the waitlist” email says it — “#3 in line” — and the link in that email opens a page that shows your current place any time.
- Will everyone on the waitlist get the offer at once?
- No. Offers go out one at a time, in the order people joined. You're never in a race to click first, and you never get an email about a spot that was really someone else's.
- What if I miss the 24-hour window?
- The offer moves to the next person in line, but you're not dropped. Your link keeps working, and if the spot is still open when you get to it, you can still claim it.
- I joined for two spots. Can I claim one?
- An offer is for the number you asked for. If only one place opens, the offer waits until there's room for two, or goes to someone behind you who asked for one. To change your number, leave the list and join again.
- How do I leave the waitlist?
- Open the link in your waitlist email and press “Leave the waitlist.” Nobody is notified and nothing else changes. The church can also take you off from their dashboard.
- The sheet is gone or the spot's date has passed. What happens?
- Offers stop. If the church unpublishes the sheet, or the spot's day arrives, there's nothing left to claim and you simply won't be emailed again.
