Everything SignUpChurch does
Every feature, grouped by what you're trying to do, with the plan it's on. Each one links to the help article that walks through it.
The short answer
SignUpChurch is a sign-up sheet for churches: slots, sections, questions, plain forms, RSVPs, and carpools that volunteers fill without an account. 57 of the 74 features below are on every plan, including Free. Basic adds reminders, messaging, exports, and your own design; Pro adds sync into your church management software, Slack, and the AI builder. See pricing or try it without an account.

Build a sheet
Slots, sections, questions, and the shapes a church sign-up actually takes — a rota, a meal train, a potluck, a plain form.

Slots and sections
Every planName a spot, give it a capacity (or none), and group spots under headings like Food or Setup crew. Reorder by drag.
Dated slots and the slot generator
Every planAny slot can carry its own date; the generator lays out weeks of dated slots in one pass for meal trains and rotations.
Dated sections
Every planGive a section a date and every slot under it takes that day — “Tuesday: main, salad, dessert,” dated once.
Shifts by time
Every planA start, an end, and a shift length lay out every hour of a prayer vigil or every twenty minutes of appointments.
Move all dates
Every planShift the event date and every slot and section date by the same number of days, keeping every sign-up.
Just a form
Every planConnect cards, prayer requests, interest lists: questions with no spots. Responses land on the dashboard, in email, in the CSV, and on People.
RSVP and headcount questions
Every planA yes/no RSVP with “how many?” for the dinner, the picnic, the Christmas Eve service.
Carpool sign-ups
Every planDrivers offer seats, riders claim them, and “I don't need a ride” sorts the rest — built for youth trips and serve days.
Custom questions with conditional logic
Every planText, dropdown, yes/no, and checkboxes (pick any), required or optional, with follow-ups that appear only when an earlier answer calls for them.
Sign-up form fields
Every planDecide whether email and phone are required, optional, or hidden, what the note box says, and whether names show on the page.
Spots per person
Every planCap how many spots one person can take — one tag per family on the angel tree, two Sundays a month on the rota.
Six ready-made templates
Every planPotluck, 24-hour prayer vigil, angel tree, ministry interest form, event RSVP, and a memorial list — created as a draft you edit.
AI sheet builder
ProDescribe the sign-up in a sentence — “4 greeters, 2 nursery, someone on slides” — and get a draft with sections, slots, and capacities.
Import from SignUpGenius or Jotform
Every planPaste a public link and the sheet is rebuilt as a draft: dates, times, spot counts, questions, and conditional logic.
Duplicate onto a new first date
Every planCopy a sheet and tell it when the copy should start; next quarter's rota keeps its shape and re-dates itself.
Recurring sheets
Basic & ProPut a sheet on repeat and the next occurrence creates itself. Weekly on Basic; daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly on Pro.
Sign-up window and lock
Every planSet when sign-ups open and when they close, in your church's time zone. Lock a sheet by hand to freeze everything.
Next-in-line waitlist
Every planFull slots take a waitlist. When a spot frees up, the first person in line is offered it by email, one at a time.
Swap requests
Every planA volunteer who can't make their spot asks the people on the spots they pick; the first to say yes trades places in one step.
Private details for confirmed sign-ups
Every planAddresses, gate codes, what to bring — shown only on the thank-you page and in the emails of people who signed up.
After they sign up
Every planYour own thank-you note on the page and in the confirmation email, a “Continue to your website” button, a closed note, and a response limit for forms.
Links in descriptions
Every planA web address or email in a sheet, section, or slot description becomes a link, with your line breaks kept.
no accounts, ever
What volunteers get
Volunteers never make an account or remember a password. They tap a spot, type a name, and get everything they need by email.

Sign up in one tap, no login
Every planPick a spot, enter name and email, done. The form remembers a regular's details on their device, so weekly sign-ups become one tap.
Confirmation email with a calendar invite
Every planEvery sign-up gets a confirmation with the details, a calendar file, and a link to change or cancel.
Change or cancel without emailing anyone
Every planThe link in every email lets a volunteer fix a typo, change their spot, or cancel; the church hears about it.
Reminders before the event
Basic & ProAn email reminder the day before, two days before, or a week before — your pick per sheet.
They hear when the time changes
Every planMove a slot's time, re-date a section, or change the location, and the form offers to email everyone affected with old and new side by side.
Find my sign-ups
Every planLost the email? One page re-sends every sign-up link for an address.
Privacy on the public page
Every planNames show with a last initial (“Anne B.”), or not at all if you choose. Emails and phones are never shown.
Invitations that open filled in
Every planThe button in an invitation carries the volunteer's name and email, so the form opens with the boxes done. Add ?name=&email= to any link to do the same from your newsletter tool.
who's coming
See and manage sign-ups
Everyone who signed up, in one list, with what they told you — and the tools to fix, print, and export it.

The Sign-ups tab
Every planEveryone on the sheet in one searchable list, grouped by slot, with contact details and answers. Sort by slot, name, newest, or any answer.
Table view
Every planFlip the list into a table with a column per question; sort by “T-shirt size” and the XLs line up.
Edit, add, move, or remove a sign-up
Every planFix a name, add someone who called the office, move a person to another slot, or remove them with a courtesy email.
CSV export
Basic & ProDownload exactly what the Sign-ups tab shows, in the same order, or export everyone from People with their latest answers.
Printable check-in sheet
Basic & ProEvery sign-up by slot with phone, answers, and a blank signed-in column for the welcome table.
Read-only roster link
Every planGive a team leader “who's on this Sunday” with no login and no way to change anything. Turn it off any time.
The People page
Every planEveryone who has ever signed up, with their sign-up count, hours served, and most recent answers.
Import your own volunteers
Every planPaste a list or upload a CSV into People so there's someone to invite on day one, up to 500 at a time.
Hours served, milestones, and certificates
Every planTimed slots add up to hours per person; milestones from 5 to 250 sign-ups; a print-ready appreciation certificate in your colors.
in your words
Talk to your volunteers
Invite the regulars, message the people on a sheet, and sound the last call — from the sheet, not your mail client.

Message your volunteers
Basic & ProOne email to everyone signed up on a sheet, or only certain slots, in your words. Each person gets it once with their sign-ups listed; replies come to you.
Invite your regulars
Basic & ProYour People roster, most faithful first; one click sends each a personal invitation before the public link goes out.
Last-call blast
Basic & ProSpots still open with the event close? One button emails everyone who hasn't signed up, open spots listed by name, once per sheet.
“Can't this time”
Basic & ProEvery invitation ends with a one-click no for that sheet; the last call leaves them be, and they stay on People for next time.
without the noise
Stay in the loop
Hear about sign-ups the way you want: instantly, in a daily or weekly roundup, in Slack, or not at all for the sheets that aren't yours.

Sign-up emails on your schedule
Every planEvery new sign-up instantly, or one daily or weekly roundup — set account-wide or per sheet. Any admin can mute their own copy.
Spots-still-open heads-up and a Monday summary
Every planA nudge a few days before the event when spots are unclaimed, and a Monday email with last week's sign-ups and how full every live sheet is.
A “your sheet is full” email
Every planOne email to the admins the moment the last spot goes.
Managed by, and My sheets
Every planEvery sheet has a manager. Their sheet's emails go to them and the owner, not every admin, and a My sheets switch shows a leader just their own.
Send sign-ups to Slack
ProAny sheet can post new sign-ups and cancellations to the channel you pick, private channels included, with only the fields your team needs.
forty sheets, no scrolling
Organize the dashboard
Folders, a grid, a sort order that's remembered, search, and an archive that happens by itself.

Folders and a grid view
Every planPut sheets in folders you name from the Folder menu on every card, and flip the dashboard between a list and a grid of tiles.
Sort by event date, newest, or title
Every planYour pick, remembered per browser.
Search sheets and people
Every planFind any sheet by its title, description, slot names, or link, and any person by name or email, as you type.
Archive, by hand or by itself
Every planArchive tucks a sheet away with every sign-up kept. One-off sheets archive themselves the day after their event.
Deleted sheets come back for 30 days
Every planA deleted sheet waits in a Deleted list with its sign-ups. Any admin can restore it; after 30 days it's removed for good.
See where you stand against a limit
Every planOn Free, the dashboard reads “2 of 3 active sheets,” and the message card counts your sends for the day.

Common questions
- What does the Free plan include?
- 3 active sign-up sheets at a time (archived and unpublished sheets don't count), unlimited sign-ups, confirmation emails to volunteers, a public sign-up page, you plus 1 backup admin, and the chance to earn extra active sheets by referring churches. No credit card.
- What do Basic and Pro add?
- Basic ($12/month) adds unlimited sheets, reminders, weekly recurring sheets, inviting your regulars, messaging volunteers and the last call, CSV exports, the check-in sheet, your own colors, fonts and logo, and no SignUpChurch branding. Pro ($24/month) adds ChMS sync, the AI sheet builder, Slack posts, every recurrence frequency, and unlimited admins. Your first upgrade starts with 14 days free.
- Do volunteers need an account?
- No. Volunteers never create an account or a password. They open the link, pick a spot, type a name and email, and get a confirmation with a calendar invite and a link to change or cancel.
- Can I use it for things that aren't volunteer shifts?
- Yes. Start a sheet as “Just a form” for connect cards, prayer requests, and interest lists, use an RSVP question for a dinner headcount, a carpool question for a youth trip, or a template for a potluck, a prayer vigil, an angel tree, or a memorial list.
- Can I bring my sheets over from SignUpGenius or Jotform?
- Yes. Paste a public SignUpGenius or Jotform link on the New sheet screen and the sheet is rebuilt as a draft with its dates, times, spot counts, questions, and conditional logic. Every plan.
- Is there a SignUpChurch app?
- Not in an app store, and you don't need one. Every page works on a phone, and a sheet can be added to a phone's home screen under your church's name so it opens like an app.
