Limits: sheets, admins, emails & sign-ups

Everything that has a number on it, in one place, so you can plan a big sheet or a big send without guessing. Plan features themselves are on the pricing page.

The short answer: Sign-ups are unlimited on every plan. Free runs 3 published sheets at a time and one backup admin; Basic has unlimited sheets and one backup admin; Pro has unlimited both. The rest are safety rails on sending and on bulk tools, listed below.

By plan

  • Active (published) sheets: Free 3, plus up to 3 more earned by referring churches; Basic and Pro unlimited.
  • Admins besides the owner: Free and Basic 1; Pro unlimited. A pending invitation counts as a seat until it's accepted or revoked.
  • Sign-ups, volunteers, and people on your roster: unlimited, every plan.
  • Recurring sheets: weekly on Basic; daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly on Pro.

On a sheet

  • Custom questions: up to 10 per sheet, with up to 12 choices on a dropdown or checkbox question.
  • Slots created in one pass: 120, by the dated-slot generator, Add shifts by time, or the AI builder (which also stops at 15 sections). Add more in a second pass.
  • Spots per person: whatever cap you set, or none. Counted by email across the sheet; never applied to people you add yourself.

Sending

  • Message volunteers: 10 sends a day per church, up to 500 people in one message. Narrow a bigger sheet to specific slots.
  • Invite your regulars: each person is invited once per sheet, and one send reaches at most 200 people; a larger roster is sent in rounds. Someone who clicked “can't this time” or “stop these invitations” is skipped.
  • Last call: once per sheet, so the urgency stays real.
  • Reminders, confirmations, waitlist offers, admin notices: no cap.

Bulk tools

  • Import contacts into People: 500 rows per upload or paste; duplicates skipped, bad addresses reported. Run it again for the next batch.
  • Import from SignUpGenius or Jotform: one public form per import, rebuilt as a draft.

The public sign-up form

Anyone on the internet can submit it, and a submission sends email, so it's throttled: thirty sign-ups in ten minutes from one network (a congregation on church wifi fits), five sign-ups a day to one email address, and two text-reminder opt-ins a day for one phone number. Hitting one shows “Too many sign-ups right now.” Keying in a stack of paper sign-ups? Use Add a person on the Slots tab, which isn't throttled.

Common questions

Is there a limit on how many people can sign up?
No. Sign-ups are unlimited on every plan, including Free. A spot's capacity is yours to set — or leave it unlimited for a sheet where everyone's welcome.
Is there a limit on how many emails SignUpChurch sends for me?
Confirmations, reminders, waitlist offers, and the admin emails have no cap — they go out whenever they're due. The church-written sends are limited to keep them from becoming spam: 10 messages a day per church with up to 500 people each, invitations once per person per sheet, and one last call per sheet.
What counts as an active sheet?
A published one. Drafts, unpublished sheets, and archived sheets don't count, however many you keep. Only the Free plan has a limit; Basic and Pro are unlimited.
How many slots can a sheet have?
There's no fixed cap on a sheet. The tools that create many at once stop at 120 per pass — Add dated slots, Add shifts by time, and the AI builder — so a very long rota is built in a couple of passes, or split into sheets by month.
