ministry is seasonal — billing can be too

Change or pause your plan

Church life has seasons — a summer slump or a semester off shouldn't mean tearing down your whole setup. Here's how plan changes work, and how to take a season off without losing anything.

The short answer: Everything happens on Dashboard → Billing (account owner only). Upgrades apply immediately and are prorated; downgrading to Free takes effect at the end of the billing period. And when you go to downgrade, you can pause instead: keep every feature, pay nothing for 1, 2, or 3 months, and billing restarts on its own.

Pause for the slow season

On the billing page, click Downgrade to Free and you'll see the offer: pause for 1, 2, or 3 months. While paused, you keep every feature of your plan and pay nothing — no invoices at all until the resume date, when billing restarts automatically. No re-signup, no card re-entry, and any referral discount you've earned rides through untouched.

Ready back sooner than planned? The billing page shows your pause and a Resume billing now button the whole time.

Switching plans

  • Upgrading (Free → Basic/Pro, or Basic → Pro) applies immediately. Moving between paid plans is prorated, so you never pay twice for the same days.
  • Downgrading to Free takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Nothing is deleted — but the Free plan allows one active sheet (plus any earned from referrals), so extra published sheets need unpublishing before new ones can go live.
  • Payment details and invoices live under Manage billing, which opens a secure Stripe portal for updating your card or downloading receipts.

Questions churches ask

Common questions

What happens to my sheets and settings while I'm paused?
Nothing — that's the point. You keep every feature of your plan, and all your sheets, volunteers, and settings stay exactly as they are. A pause only stops the billing, and it restarts automatically on the date you picked.
Can I end a pause early?
Yes. While paused, the billing page shows a “Resume billing now” button — click it and collection picks back up with your next invoice.
I already set my subscription to cancel — can I pause instead?
Yes. Pausing also clears a pending cancellation, so if you chose to cancel and then think a season off would do, pick a pause and the cancel is undone.
When does a downgrade to Free take effect?
At the end of your current billing period — you keep what you paid for. Your data stays either way; on Free, one sheet can be active (published) at a time, plus any extras earned from referrals.
Who can change the plan?
Only the account owner. Invited admins manage sheets and volunteers, not billing.
