I didn't get my confirmation email
The confirmation is your receipt: what you picked, when and where, a calendar invite, any details the church shares only with confirmed sign-ups, and the link to change or cancel. Here's where it goes when it doesn't show up.
Check these first
- Spam, junk, and promotions tabs. Search for signupchurch. If it's there, mark it as not spam so the reminder lands in your inbox.
- The address you typed. The thank-you page doesn't show it back to you, so a swapped letter goes unnoticed until the email never arrives.
- A work or school address. Some organizations quarantine mail from senders they haven't seen before. Ask your IT folks to allow signupchurch.com, or use a personal address next time.
- A minute or two. Email usually lands within seconds, but a busy mail provider can hold it briefly.
When no email is sent on purpose
- You left the email field empty. Some sheets make it optional. With no address there's nothing to send to — no confirmation, no reminder, no change-or-cancel link. The church can still do all of that for you from its dashboard.
- You answered an RSVP with “no.” A no is recorded for the church and nothing is emailed.
- You joined a waitlist. You get a different email — “You're on the waitlist: …”, a receipt with your place in line — and a second one if a spot opens up for you.
Am I actually signed up?
If the page said “You're signed up!” (or “You're on the list!”), yes — the spot was recorded before any email was sent. That page is also a receipt: it lists what you picked and shows any details the church shares only with confirmed sign-ups, so it's worth a screenshot if you suspect your email went astray.
When the church shows names on its sheet, your first name and last initial appear on the slot (“Anne B.”). And the church always sees you on its dashboard, so asking them is a sure way to know.
Getting it fixed
Don't sign up a second time to fix a wrong email — that takes another spot and leaves a stray entry on the church's list. Instead, tell the church (the office, or whoever shared the sheet) and they can correct your email, add one you left off, or remove a duplicate from their dashboard in a few seconds. Once the address is right, your reminder goes to the right place.
Common questions
- Does no confirmation mean I'm not signed up?
- Usually not. If the page said “You're signed up!” after you submitted, your spot is recorded whether or not the email arrived. If the church shows names on its sheet, you'll see your first name and last initial on the slot. When in doubt, ask the church — your sign-up is on their dashboard.
- I typed my email wrong. Should I sign up again?
- No — that would take a second spot. Ask the church to correct the address on their dashboard; they can fix it in a few seconds and you'll get your reminder at the right address. If a church staffer isn't reachable, signing up again and asking them to remove the first entry also works, but tell them.
- I signed up without giving an email. Can I still get the emails?
- Not for that sign-up, unless the church adds your email to it from their dashboard. A sign-up with no email gets no confirmation, no reminder, and no change-or-cancel link — the church can do all of that for you instead.
- I got the confirmation but no reminder. Is something wrong?
- Reminder emails go out about two days before the event, and only on the church's paid plans — a sheet on the free plan sends confirmations only. An RSVP “no” never gets a reminder. And if you signed up inside those two days, the reminder follows a few hours after your confirmation rather than right away.
- Will SignUpChurch ever email me about anything else?
- No. Volunteers get emails about their own sign-ups — confirmations, reminders, cancellation receipts, waitlist offers — plus any invitation the church itself chooses to send, each with a one-click link to stop those. We never send marketing to volunteers.
If you're sure the address was right and nothing arrived in any folder, contact support with the sheet's name and the address you used, and we'll check delivery on our end.
