No — recognition comes from you, not from software. We never email your volunteers anything except the transactional messages about their own sign-ups (confirmations and reminders); our privacy policy promises that. You print or download the certificate and present it however fits your church.

What counts as a 'time served'?

The same number the People page shows: their total sign-ups across all your sheets. One person is grouped by email (or by name for email-optional sign-ups), so a volunteer who serves on three different sheets gets full credit.

Which plans include certificates?

All of them, including Free. On the Free plan the certificate carries a small "Made with SignUpChurch" line; paid plans get it unbranded, and Pro churches with a custom form design get certificates in their own colors.

Can I make a certificate for someone who hasn't hit a milestone?

Yes — every person on your People page has a Certificate link, whatever their count. Milestones just add the badge on the roster and a milestone line on the certificate.

Volunteer milestones & certificates

Faithful volunteers rarely hear it out loud. The People page now keeps count for you and turns that count into something you can hand them on a Sunday.

The short answer: On Dashboard → People, volunteers who reach 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, or 250 sign-ups get a milestone badge — and every person has a Certificate link that opens a print-ready appreciation certificate (or a downloadable image for your church's social page). Available on every plan.

How to make a certificate

Open your People page.
Dashboard → People lists everyone who has ever signed up, with their total sign-ups — and a badge once they cross a milestone.
Click Certificate next to a name.
You'll see the finished certificate: their name, how many times they've served with your church, the milestone if they've reached one, and lines for a signature and date.
Print it — or download the image.
Print certificate prints exactly what you see (cardstock recommended). Download image saves a high-resolution PNG, sized for sharing on your church's Facebook or Instagram when you celebrate someone publicly.

Pro churches with a custom form design get certificates in their own colors automatically — everyone else gets our warm default.
