The SignUpChurch roadmap

Choose who hears about each sheet — some of your admins, or a ministry leader with no login at all, by email — and show “Questions? Contact Jane” on the public page. Volunteers who reply to their confirmation reach that person, not whoever registered the account.

The simple version of answer routing: per sheet, not per answer.

Put an iPad in a stand on Sunday: a kiosk link goes back to a fresh sheet after each sign-up, clears the last person's details, and never offers to remember anyone on the device — so members who won't use their own phone can still sign up.

A shared iPad works today if “Remember my details” stays unticked; this makes it hands-off.

Come back to a sheet you signed up for and it says so at the top, with a change-or-cancel link, no email digging. And a “my sign-ups” page: type your email, get a link listing every upcoming sign-up at every church, with one calendar file for all of them. Still no accounts, still no passwords.

Can't make 9am after all? The change-or-cancel page lists the open slots on the same sheet, so a volunteer moves themselves instead of cancelling and signing up again — no second confirmation, no waitlist churn.

“Each household may take at most two Sundays” on the flower calendar, “pick one shift” on the work day — a per-sheet cap on how many spots one person can hold, so the same three families don't fill the year in a weekend.

Build one date's section the way you want it — greeters, ushers, nursery, coffee — then copy it to the next date in one click instead of retyping every slot. Duplicate a single slot too, for the shift that runs five times a day. Copies bring the slot names, counts, times, and descriptions, never the sign-ups.

Duplicate already copies a whole sheet; this is the same idea inside the editor.

On Pro, invite everyone on the linked Planning Center team, Breeze tag, or CCB group in one click — the ChMS half of the list import that shipped. Same once-per-sheet rule, same one-click opt-out.

Slots already have start and end times, so the People page can add them up: hours served per volunteer, a date-range export for the youth group's service-hour forms, a “counts as 2 hours” setting for slots with no times, and the total printed on their appreciation certificate.

Hide the spots-left count on a sheet, not just the names. And a share button on the thank-you page, so a volunteer can text the sheet to a friend. (The reminder lead time and meeting-link locations from this card have shipped.)

Admins at churches on Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 sign in with the account they already use — no separate password to lose when staff changes.

Two new custom question types: a draw-or-type signature and a file upload. One church, several campuses: link each campus's account under one organization for a single bill, one login that moves between campuses, and a combined view of every campus's sign-ups. Each campus keeps its own sheets, admins, and links.

A sheet linked to a Services team now schedules each sign-up onto the plan for the date of the slot the volunteer picked — the slot's own date, or the sheet's event date. An RSVP question can have a Max attending: the total headcount of everyone who says yes (a party of four takes four seats). Once it's reached, the page says “All 30 seats are taken,” new yeses are turned away, a no still goes through, and the waitlist takes over. The New sheet screen asks How many spots?, and the Settings tab's Sheet type card switches a sheet between Volunteer slots, Event RSVP, Both, and Just a form, showing what will change and never deleting a response. A recurring form can now keep the next 2 to 12 dates open, or every date through a last date — a whole August-to-December season — so a volunteer can claim “the last weekend of November” in October. Each date is still its own sheet with its own sign-up list, confirmation, and reminders, and a season's series ends on its last date.

Message volunteers gains a third choice for the account owner: Your People list. Tick the spots you're short on — two toddler rooms at the 9:30 on the 23rd — write it in your own words, and leave out whoever is already serving that day (or only those on the spots you ticked, or nobody). People serving other weekends still get the ask. Each email lists the open spots with a sign-up button that opens already filled in, plus a stop-these-emails link, and a season-long sheet can ask again each week. And Publish now has an “Email my People list that it's open” box that invites everyone in one step.

A reminder for a slot inside a section now names both — “9:30 service — Room 4,” with its date and time — in the reminder email, so a volunteer serving two services knows which room is which. And the church page and every sign-up link offer Add to Home Screen on phones, so a monthly volunteer opens your sign-ups like an app, named for your church, with nothing to download. One optional question — at registration, as a one-time pop-up on the dashboard (asked once more two weeks later if you say not now, then never again), and editable on Integrations: which church management system do you use? Realm has no API, so there's no sync to wait for. Every sheet and the People page now have Export for Realm: a file in Realm's own Import Profiles layout — First Name, Last Name, Primary Email, Mobile Phone, one row per person — that loads in Realm under Profiles → Import Profiles with nothing to rename.

Delete no longer means gone. A deleted sheet moves to a Deleted list at the bottom of the dashboard with every sign-up still on it, and any admin can press Restore to bring it back as a draft — same link, same folder. After 30 days it's removed for good, or sooner if the owner presses Delete forever. Deleting is still owner-only. Every plan.

On the Free plan, the top of your dashboard now reads “2 of 3 active sheets” — referral sheets included — and the same count sits next to Publish on a draft, with a line saying what publishing it would use. Message volunteers counts your sends for the day once you've made one and waits for tomorrow at the cap, instead of failing after you confirm. And the help center opens with a Start here strip and a Guides row. Every plan.

A web address or email in a sheet, section, or slot description is now a link, and line breaks show as you typed them — the parking map, the office email. And the button in an invitation or last call carries the volunteer's name and email, so the form opens already filled in; add ?name=&email= to any sheet link to do the same from your own newsletter tool. One card on every sheet's Settings tab. Write the thank-you in your words — it shows on the page the moment someone signs up and heads their confirmation email. Add a link and the page offers “Continue to ourchurch.org” (a button, never a redirect). Write a closed note and it appears under the standard line while the sheet is closed or locked. And a plain form can stop after a set number of responses — the first 40 families — showing that note once it's full. The thank-you page also offers “Sign up someone else.” Every plan.

Turn on Swaps for a sheet and a volunteer who can't make their spot asks, from their change-or-cancel page, whether anyone on the spots they pick could trade. A church arriving from another tool had nobody to invite until people signed up once. The owner can now paste a list or upload a CSV of the church's own volunteers — name, email, phone — straight into People, up to 500 at a time, with duplicates skipped and bad addresses reported. Imported people show an Imported badge, count as regulars to invite, and are never added to any mailing list of ours. Every plan.

Print check-in sheet, beside the CSV link, lays out every sign-up by slot with phone, answers, and a blank signed-in column for the welcome table — plus a blank line for each open spot and the sheet's QR code, so it doubles as a paper sign-up sheet for people who'd rather write than tap (Basic & Pro; Save as PDF for the board packet). And the Share tab's read-only roster link gives a team leader “who's on this Sunday” — names, contact details, answers — with no login and no way to change anything; turn it off or make a new one any time. Slots already have start and end times, so the People page now adds them up: every past spot a person held with set times counts toward their hours, shown beside their sign-up count, on the certificate (the line a student takes to a service-hours form), and in the People CSV. Undated or untimed spots, RSVPs and carpools count zero — the number says ~ for that reason. Every plan.

Every invitation now ends with a one-click way to say no to that one sheet. The invite card shows who said it and how many, and the last-call blast leaves them be — so the regular who already declined the retreat isn't asked again. A fourth question type: Checkboxes (pick any) — “which programs would you like to hear about?” on a connect card, “which days can you help?” on a work day — with a follow-up that can appear when one particular box is checked. The dashboard lists sheets by event date by default — soonest first, undated ones last — with newest-first and A–Z a click away, remembered per browser. Carpool questions gain a third answer, “I don't need a ride,” so organizers can tell who's sorted from who hasn't answered. The stats row now says “people signed up,” not “volunteers.”

Connect Slack and any form can post its new sign-ups and cancellations to the channel you pick, private channels included, so your team sees them where they already talk. Each sheet's page now has tabs, starting with Sign-ups: everyone on the sheet in one list, grouped by slot, with their contact info and answers. Search it, sort it by name, newest, or any answer, flip it into a table with a column per question, and move or remove people from the same row. A sheet that's just one RSVP question now takes the answer, name, and email right in that card, with one Send button. Names on public pages show a last initial (“Anne B.”) so two Annes can tell each other apart, locations open in Maps, and the form design lets you pick your logo's size and center it.

The first is a memorial (necrology) list for All Saints': one box takes several names, an optional box marks which died within the past year, another takes pronunciation help, the list never fills up, and the public page doesn't show who submitted.
