SignUpGenius hides a sheet's slots once its dates have passed (and on invite-only sheets). If the import comes back with just the title and description, the source sheet was expired or not public — you can still add slots in the editor in a couple of minutes.

Do I need a paid plan to import?

No — importing is on every plan, including Free. The imported sheet arrives as a draft, and drafts don't count against the Free plan's one-active-sheet limit until you publish.

Import a sheet from SignUpGenius

Moving a sheet by hand means retyping every slot. The importer does it for you: it reads the same public page your volunteers see and rebuilds the whole structure as a SignUpChurch draft you can edit before anyone sees it.

The short answer: Go to Dashboard → New sheet, paste your sheet's public signupgenius.com/go/… link into the import box, and we rebuild it here as a draft — every slot with its dates, times, and spot counts. Review, tweak, publish. Existing sign-ups stay on SignUpGenius; nothing there is changed.

How to import

Copy your sheet's public link.
It's the link you share with volunteers — it contains /go/, like signupgenius.com/go/fall-festival. Any version works: with or without https://, straight from a browser bar or an old email.
Paste it on the New sheet screen.
In the dashboard, click New sheet and find “Moving from SignUpGenius?” below the form. Paste the link and click Import sheet.
Review the draft and publish.
You land in the editor with everything rebuilt: the title and description, and one slot per job per date — times and spot counts included. Check the dates, trim what you don't need, then publish and share like any other sheet.

What imports (and what doesn't)

Comes over: the sheet title and description, every visible slot with its date, start and end time, spot count (including unlimited slots), per-slot notes, and the location.
Stays behind: existing sign-ups (volunteers' names and emails), attached files and images, custom questions, payments, and the color theme. SignUpChurch forms collect name, email, phone, and an optional note whose label you can reword (“Dedication — printed in the bulletin”) — see create a sign-up form.

The import is read-only: it looks at your public sheet the same way a volunteer's browser does. Nothing on SignUpGenius is modified, and no SignUpGenius login is needed.
