New people, the CCB way
CCB organizes everyone into families, so that's how new volunteers arrive: one clean family with one member — name and email — set as primary contact, ready to merge into a household later.
Match by email, create if new
Every sign-up is looked up in your people list by email first. Members stay one record; only a genuinely new volunteer becomes a new one — and only an exact email match counts.
Add-only, by design
The whole footprint is find-or-create. Existing individuals are never edited, and groups, processes, events, and giving are never touched.

What it writes
- Searches individuals by the volunteer's email first — returning volunteers are matched only on an exact email match, never a near miss.
- New volunteers are created the way CCB expects: a new family with one member carrying their first name, last name, and email, set as the family's primary contact.
- Existing individuals aren't edited at all — a match is simply reused.
What it never touches
- Never edits or overwrites an existing individual.
- Never deletes people or families.
- Never touches groups, processes, events, or giving.
- Never imports or stores your CCB data — sync is one-way.
Matching keys off the volunteer's email, so on sheets where you've made email optional, a sign-up made without one is never synced — no unmatchable records, no duplicates. The full transparency doc lives in the help center: what sync updates (and what it doesn't).

How do sign-ups get into CCB?
Automatically, moments after each sign-up (Pro plan). We search your individuals by email; an exact match is reused as-is, and a new volunteer is created as a new family with one member — first name, last name, and email.
Will it overwrite or duplicate my people data?
No. Records are matched by exact email, existing individuals are never edited, and sync never deletes anyone.
Does it work with multiple campuses?
Yes — sync writes to your CCB account like any admin-created record, and new people land on your account's default campus, ready to reassign like any other new record.
What does it cost, and how do I connect?
ChMS sync is part of the Pro plan ($24/mo). Connect from Settings → Integrations by entering your CCB subdomain and logging in with your CCB Master Administrator account — OAuth, so we never see your password.
