one church, one account
Someone at your church already uses SignUpChurch? Now you'll know
The kids pastor finds SignUpChurch and sets up an account. A month later the youth pastor finds it too, and sets up another. Now the church has two accounts, two sets of sheets, and volunteers who get emails from both. Nobody did anything wrong. They just didn't know about each other.
How it works
We look for other accounts with an admin at your email's domain. When there's a match, you see the church's name, never who its admins are. From there it takes three steps: ask, wait for an admin to approve, then click the link in your email. The link is what proves the address is really yours, so no one is added just because they typed someone else's email.
Prefer to keep your own account? Click No thanks, keep my own. Separate accounts are still fine.
Any admin can say yes
Requests go to every admin on the account, not only the owner. Staff change, and a request shouldn't go unanswered because the person who set things up has left. It pairs with this week's backup admin on every plan: more churches now have a second person who can answer.

Common questions
- How does SignUpChurch know someone at my church already has an account?
- By email domain. If you sign up as you@yourchurch.org and another church account has an admin at yourchurch.org, your dashboard names that church. Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud and other personal addresses are never matched.
- Who approves a request to join?
- Any admin on the account you asked to join, not just the owner, so a request never gets stuck because the owner has moved on. They get an email and answer it from their Team page.
- What if I've already built sheets in my own account?
- Joining removes your own account, so the button only works while it's empty and on the Free plan. If you've already built something, contact support and we'll combine the accounts for you.
- Which plans is this on?
- Every plan, including Free. An approved request uses one of the church's admin spots: Free and Basic include one admin besides the owner, and Pro has unlimited.
