How many admins can my church have?

On Free and Basic, the owner plus 1 admin. On Pro ($24/mo), as many admins as you like. Pending invitations count toward the limit until they're accepted or expire.

What can the backup admin do?

Everything the owner does with sheets: create and edit them, manage sign-ups and volunteers, and connect integrations. Billing and the team stay with the owner until ownership is transferred.

How do I hand the account to someone else?

The owner goes to Team → Transfer ownership, picks another admin, and confirms with their password. The new owner takes over billing and the team, and the old owner stays on as an admin.

We downgraded from Pro. Do we lose admins?

No. Admins you already have keep their access. You just can't invite new ones until you're back under your plan's limit.

Every plan now includes a backup admin

Church staff change. The volunteer coordinator takes a new job, the youth pastor moves across the country, and the person who set up your sign-up account leaves with the only login. Until now, a free church had exactly one admin, so that one departure could leave everyone else locked out.

The short version: Free and Basic now include a backup admin: the owner plus one more login. And any owner can transfer ownership to another admin from the Team page before they step away. Pro stays unlimited.

Add your backup

On the Team page, use Invite an admin. Your backup gets an email link to create their own login. Pick whoever would take over if you left: another staff member, an elder, or the volunteer who already runs half your sheets.

Hand it off before you go

When it's time, the owner clicks Transfer ownership, picks the admin taking over, and confirms with their password. Billing and the team move to them, the old owner stays on as an admin, and both get a confirmation email. Here's the full walkthrough, including what to do if the owner has already left.

On a paid plan, the card on file doesn't move with ownership. The new owner should check it on the Billing page.
