Change your login email, or delete the account, without emailing anyone

Two things used to need an email to support: moving your login to a new address, and closing the account. Both are the kind of thing you should be able to do at eleven at night without waiting for a human. Now you can.

The short version: Dashboard → Security now has a Login email card and, for the owner, a Delete the account card. A new login email takes a click from the new inbox; deleting cancels your subscription first and removes everything. Every plan.

A new login email, safely

Enter the new address and your current password. The new inbox gets a confirmation link that works for 24 hours; the old address gets a note that a change was requested, with a one-click way to stop it. Nothing changes until the new inbox confirms — and when it does, the old address is told that too. That two-sided notice is the point: a hijacked session can't quietly take the account.

Your login email is also where sign-up notices and the Monday summary go, so after a change, that's where they'll land.

Deleting, when it's time

Churches merge, plants fold back in, and sometimes a tool just isn't the right fit. The owner types the church's URL name and their password, and the account goes: every sheet and sign-up, the People list and imported contacts, settings, and every admin login. Any subscription is cancelled before a single row is removed. You get a receipt by email, and anything already synced to your church management system stays exactly where it is.

It can't be undone, so export first — the People CSV and each sheet's CSV are on Basic and Pro, and the account article covers the rest.

Common questions

Does changing my login email change anything else?
No. Your sheets, your team, your plan, and your two-factor setup all stay put. Only the address you sign in with — and where your sign-up notices go — moves.
What if I typo the new address?
Nothing happens. The change only lands when the new inbox clicks the confirmation link, so a typo just means no click. Cancel it from Security and try again; the old address keeps working the whole time.
Who can delete the account?
Only the owner, from Dashboard → Security, by typing the church's URL name and their password. Admins can't, and neither can someone impersonating the account from support.
What happens to our subscription when we delete?
It's cancelled first, before anything is removed. If the cancellation fails for any reason, nothing is deleted and you're told so — nobody keeps paying for a church that's gone.
Does deleting remove what we synced to Planning Center or Breeze?
No. Records already written to your church management system are yours and stay there. We never delete from a ChMS.
