Send sign-ups to Slack
A lot of church teams don't live in their inbox. The worship team, the youth staff, the people setting up the fall festival: they talk in Slack. Until now, a new sign-up reached them only if an admin forwarded the email or posted a screenshot. A church asked us for a better way, and this is it.
How it works
Connect your workspace from Settings. Then on any form's Settings tab, open Post sign-ups to Slack, choose a channel, and tick what your team needs to see. The greeters rotation can post to #greeters and the fall festival to #events. A Send a test post button shows you exactly what will land.
When someone signs up, the post shows up right away, even if that form's emails are set to a weekly roundup. When someone cancels from their link, a short line tells the channel the spot is open again.
Only what your team needs
A channel is a bigger room than an admin's inbox, so posts start small: the volunteer's name, what they signed up for, and the form title. Email, phone, how many, the note, and each custom question are off until you tick them, form by form.
The full setup, including private channels, is in the help center: Send sign-ups to Slack.
Common questions
- Which plans can send sign-ups to Slack?
- Pro ($24/mo). If you move off Pro, posting stops, but your connection and each form's channel are kept for when you come back.
- What does each Slack post include?
- The volunteer's name, what they signed up for, and the form title, plus a link to the full list in your dashboard. Email, phone, how many, the note, and each custom question only go along if you tick them for that form.
- Can it post to a private channel?
- Yes. Type /invite @SignUpChurch in the private channel first, then choose it on the form.
- Does this replace sign-up emails?
- No. Your sign-up emails keep following your notification settings. Slack posts are extra, and they go out right away even when a form's emails are set to a daily or weekly roundup.
