three services, seven rooms
A schedule table for a season of services and rooms
A children's ministry weekend is three services, seven rooms at the busiest one, every room with its own age group, its own number of helpers, and its own arrival time — and a season of those weekends at once. Built as sections, that was dozens of headings in one long column, and nobody could see the schedule. Now it's a table.
Build a season in one step
Pick the first date, every week or every two weeks, and the last date. Add each service: “9:30am Kids,” volunteers arrive at 9:00, done by 11:00. Then its rooms, one per line:
Room 101 | Infants | 4 Room 102 | 2-year-olds | 4 Room 201 | 3-year-olds | 3
The card tells you how many sections and spots that makes before you build. Christmas Eve or a Wednesday service is the same card with “Just this date.”
A schedule people can read
The page becomes a table: the date down the left, spanning that day's services; each service with its arrival-to-end time, shown once; and its rooms beside it with spots left, who's signed up, and a Sign up button. Regulars, staff, and the once-a-month volunteer all see the same schedule and pick as many spots as they like in one sign-up. On a phone, each day stacks: date, service and time, rooms.
Common questions
- Where are these?
- On a sheet's Slots tab: Build a schedule, next to the dated and timed slot generators, and Page layout at the top, which switches between Cards and Schedule table.
- How do I type the rooms?
- One per line: name | age group | how many people — for example Room 101 | Infants | 4. Leave off the number for one person, or write no limit.
- Can I change it after building?
- Yes. The builder makes ordinary sections and spots, so you can change a room's capacity, add a room to one service, or rearrange sections afterward.
- Which plans include it?
- Every plan, including Free.
