Managed by, and “My sheets”

A communications director put it exactly: “I want to see every form, but I don't want everyone else to see mine.” Her church runs worship sign-ups, a meal train, and a dozen committee sheets under one account, each built by the person who runs it. Until now every admin saw every sheet and got every sheet's email. Three small changes fix that without adding a single permission to think about.

The short version: Every sheet now has a manager — whoever created it, until someone says otherwise. The dashboard gets a My sheets switch so a leader sees just their own (the owner flips back to All sheets). And a managed sheet's sign-up emails, cancellation notices, roundups, and spots-still-open heads-up go to its manager and the account owner, not to every admin. Every plan.

Whose sheet is it?

Open any sheet's Settings tab and the first card is Managed by: a list of everyone on your team. Sheets you create are yours automatically, so most people never touch it. Hand a sheet to someone else when they take over the ministry, or pick nobody to go back to how things were — every admin hears about it.

Nothing is locked. Every admin can still open, edit, and share every sheet. The manager is about attention, not access: who should see it first, and who should get its mail.

My sheets

On a team of more than one, the dashboard gains an All sheets / My sheets switch next to the sort. A leader clicks My sheets once and the dashboard remembers it in that browser. The owner leaves it on All sheets and sees the whole church, with a quiet “Managed by” on each card that isn't theirs. Searching respects it too.

Mail that goes where it should

The part we sweated: the email streams. A managed sheet's new-sign-up emails, cancellation notices, daily or weekly roundups, and the spots-still-open heads-up now go to its manager and the account owner. The owner keeps oversight of everything; the youth leader stops getting the flower guild's dedications. Each admin's own mute still applies, the Monday summary is unchanged, and a sheet with no manager emails everyone exactly as before — so nothing changes for a church of one.

Live now on every plan. The emails article has the full routing table, and Create a sign-up form covers the Managed by card.
