three things you asked for
Sheets sorted by event date, and a third carpool answer
Three small changes this week, all straight from a church running a film-and-faith night with a potluck and a carpool. None of them is a headline feature; all of them are the kind of thing you notice every time you open the dashboard.
Sheets in the order you think about them
The dashboard used to list sheets in the order you created them, which meant the sheet you drafted last night sat above next Saturday's event. Now the default order is event date: the soonest event on top, then the rest in order, with sheets that have no date — connect cards, interest lists, ongoing forms — at the end. Sheets whose slots carry their own dates (meal trains, flower calendars) sort by their next upcoming date.
Prefer the old order? A Sort by menu next to the search box switches to Newest first or Title A–Z, and the dashboard remembers your pick in that browser. Search results and the archive follow the same order (the archive puts the most recent past event first, since that's the one you're usually looking for).
“I don't need a ride”
A carpool question used to offer two answers — I can drive and I need a ride — which left everyone else with nothing to tap. Organizers were writing “skip this if you don't need a ride” into the description and then couldn't tell who was sorted from who simply hadn't answered.
There's now a third button: I don't need a ride. It records that the person answered, takes no seat in anyone's car, never lands on the looking-for-a-ride list, and sends no carpool reminder. On your dashboard it shows as a No ride needed badge next to the driver and rider badges, the carpool card's summary counts them as “on their own,” and the CSV export writes it in the Carpool column. Like every carpool answer, re-answering with the same email updates it — and if a driver re-answers this way, their riders go back to the looking-for-a-ride list rather than disappearing.
People, not “volunteers”
The stats row above your sheets said “volunteers this month.” But the number counts everyone who signed up for anything — an RSVP to a movie discussion, a potluck dish, a connect card — and bringing snacks to a film night isn't exactly volunteering. It now reads people signed up this month, which is what it always counted.
