no API, no problem
Realm churches: a file your import tool already understands
Realm is the church software our sign-ups get asked about most, and the one we can't connect to. ACS Technologies told us plainly: Realm has never offered a public API, by design. So we stopped waiting and built the next best thing.
What you get
Four columns, named exactly as Realm's import wants them: First Name, Last Name, Primary Email, and Mobile Phone. A volunteer who took two slots is one row. From a sheet, the file is that sheet's volunteers; from the People page, it's everyone who has ever signed up, plus any contacts you imported.
Why a file and not a sync
Planning Center, MinistryPlatform, and CCB all let a tool like ours connect and add people as they sign up. Realm doesn't, and we asked. Realm's own answer for bringing people in from another system is its CSV import, so that's what we built for. Realm only adds profiles on import and never edits existing ones, and it offers a Resolve step afterward for anyone it already knows, so your database stays yours to merge.
If you want the real thing
A Realm sync stays on our roadmap, waiting on ACST. Their support team pointed us to Realm's idea board and said a request from a Realm church counts for more than one from a vendor. If that's you, drop us a note and we'll send you the link.
Common questions
- Is this a Realm sync?
- No. Realm has no API, so nothing can sync into it automatically. This is a file in Realm's own Import Profiles layout: you download it from SignUpChurch and import it in Realm. If ACS Technologies ever opens a partner API, a live sync is on our roadmap.
- What does the file contain?
- One row per person with First Name, Last Name, Primary Email, and Mobile Phone, named the way Realm's import expects. From a sheet, it's everyone on that sheet; from the People page, everyone across all your sheets plus imported contacts.
- Which plans?
- Basic and Pro, like every CSV export.
