the last weekend of November
Recurring forms can keep a whole season open
A weekly form used to show one week at a time: next Sunday's sheet appeared on this Sunday. That works for greeters who decide week by week. It doesn't work for the volunteer who wants to pick “the last weekend of November” in October, or the children's ministry that plans August to December in one go.
The short version: A recurring form's Keep open setting now keeps the next 2 to 12 dates open, or every date through a last date you choose — a whole season at once. Each date is still its own sheet with its own sign-ups, confirmation, and reminders. Basic & Pro.
Two ways to open the calendar
- The next few dates. Pick 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, or 12. That many upcoming dates are always open, and one more appears as each date arrives. A rolling month for greeters.
- Every date through a last date. Pick the end of the season. Every date up to it opens within the hour, so volunteers see the whole stretch and pick any weekend. The series stops on that date; start the next season when you're ready.
Set up the slots first. Each date is copied when it opens, so a slot you change afterward only changes the sheet you edit. The repeat settings sit on the newest date's sheet. The details are in Create a form.
Common questions
- Where is the setting?
- On a recurring form's Settings tab, in the Recurring form card: Keep open. Choose the next date only (the default), the next 2 to 12 dates, or every date through a last date.
- Is each date still its own sheet?
- Yes. Every date has its own link, sign-up list, confirmations, and reminders, named with its date, just like before.
- How far ahead can I go?
- Up to twelve dates, or a last date up to a year after the event date.
- Which plans include it?
- Every plan with recurring forms: weekly series on Basic, and daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly on Pro.
