Sign-up answers now sync to Planning Center — as a note, in the category you pick

Last week we shipped custom questions — the t-shirt size dropdown, the allergies field, right on the sign-up form. The first thing Planning Center churches asked: can those answers follow the volunteer into People? Now they can.

The short version: Pro churches with Planning Center connected can pick a People note category in Settings, and every sign-up's custom-question answers are added to the person as one note — the sheet's name and date, then each question and answer. Strictly opt-in, append-only, off until you choose a category.

One note per sign-up

When someone signs up on a sheet with custom questions, the sync that already lands them in People now adds a note too:

One submission, one note — someone grabbing three slots in one go doesn't triple up. And notes are only ever added: sync never edits, replaces, or deletes a note, not even its own, so your People history stays yours.

You pick the category — and who can see it

Notes in Planning Center live in categories, and each category has its own permissions. That's exactly why we built this on notes: open Settings → ChMS Integrations, find Sign-up answers as notes on the Planning Center card, and pick the category the answers should file into. Asking about allergies or anything else sensitive? Pick a category only the right leaders can read — Planning Center enforces it.

Until you pick a category, nothing changes: answers stay in SignUpChurch, on your dashboard and in the CSV export, like they do today. Turn it off any time.
